The BMW Group are set to put on an impressive show at the 2009 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show this coming September.
The BMW Group are planning to present the groups products on a grand scale, including a “circuit” several hundred metres in length. This will be the first time all members of the BMW group will be presented together under one roof. The display is to be set in the new Hall 11, which was opened today by Frankfurt’s Lord Mayor Petra Roth.
MINI will be presented alongside other BMW Group products, but in its own area with very much its own style and flavour.
The IAA Frankfurt Motorshow takes place only a few weeks after MINIs “official” 50th birthday, and MINI promise that this year’s display will be all about embracing the successful 50 year history of our favourite little car. This will be drilled home by an enormous birthday message, 35 metres across, exclaiming “What a Birthday. It’s MINI”.
The MINI 50 Camden and Mayfair will be in attendance, making their full public debut (although they were, of course, at MINI United in May). Also expected, but as yet unconfirmed, are the World Premier of the MINI Countryman crossover in production form and the MINI Speedster Concept. Or, as BMW’s official press statement simply teases “further surprising product innovations”.
Once again MINI will be pushing hard the benefits of the MINIMALISM concept, their own take on BMW Efficient dynamics, which in turn will be featured heavily over on the BMW stand just a few paces away.
