The MINI Camden and MINI Mayfair special edition MINIs were unveiled today at the MINI United 50th Birthday party festival at Silvertone.
The two special editions are designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Mini carrying “heritage” names along with a unique combination of features and will be produced for only only one year, commencing August 2009, 50 years after the first Morris Mini-Minor and Austin Se7en cars went on sale to a largely curious and skeptical public.
The MINI 50 Mayfair is shown here finished in “Hot Chocolate”, previously exclusive to the MINI Clubman, and a contrasting white roof. The bonnet stripes are in a new colour “Toffee metallic”, which is carried through to the leather lounge seating which also feature white piping and turquoise sticthing.
The MINI 50 Mayfair carries special MINI 50 badging on the radiator grille which will only be shared with the MINI 50 Camden, the grille of the Mayfair is also home to additional headlights.
Available in Hot Chocolate, Midnight Black with a white roof or Pepper White and contrasting black roof the Mayfair edition is available in Cooper, Cooper D and Cooper S models with prices starting at £18,415 £19,458 and £21,280 respectively, all Mayfair editions include the Chili Pack as standard.
The MINI Camden shown comes in White Silver metallic with solid white roof, and is also offered in Midnight Black and Horizon Blue metallic paint finishes.
The Camden features unique 17″ White Shield alloy wheels which are part polished, part matt in appearance. The MINI 50 Camden again includes unique options and features including smart piping between headlamps and a-panels, MINI 50 and Camden logos.
The Camden and Mayfair both feature never seen before “fading” mirror cover finishes, the Mayfair fading from black to brown, the Camden from silver to white.
The Camden interior is a very monochromatic affair, white and black seating in cloth/leather Ray upholstery and a carbon black dash contrasting with instrument panel trim which fades from white to silver, to echo the wing mirror caps.
The MINI Camden will retail in the UK from £18,165 for the Cooper Camden, £19,235 for the Cooper D, rising to £21,030 for the MINI Cooper S Camden.
